Project Manager/Leader – Junior

Location: Toronto, ON

MUST HAVES:
Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level).
 
Experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Typical Day in Role
·      Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
·      Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope
·      Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
·      Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards
·      Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures
·      Resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiate changes to resourcing, ensure knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met.
·      Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, gating, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
·      Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
·      Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Project Management Skills ·       Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level).
·       Knowledge of latest developments and leading practices in the project management industry and profession, (e.g. PMBOK®) and familiarity with best practices in other industries, sectors or jurisdictions related to project management methodologies.
·       Experience in the development and implementation of project management processes, plans, and communication tools.
·       Experience in creating portfolio plans, monitoring project performance against project plans and generating progress reports using earned value or similar techniques.
·       Experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
·       An experienced individual with a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure work on tasks/milestones remains within time and cost constraints.
·     Knowledge of OPS Integrated Project Management Framework and Methodology

·       Demonstrated experience preparing and distributing project updates, progress reports to project stakeholder while managing expectations pertaining to scope and timeline constraints.
·       Demonstrated experience communicating across many functional areas to actively engage project stakeholders and manage client expectations with diverse interests, technical and non- technical backgrounds using the appropriate level of political acuity and messaging for the audience.
·     Strong discipline in resolving resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, ensures knowledge is shared among team members to achieve project objectives.
