Citrix Specialist

One of Canada’s Largest Insurance Providers is looking for a Citrix specialist.  The Citrix specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s Citrix environment.  The candidate will ensure the stability, security, and performance of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, and supporting infrastructure, enabling seamless virtual desktop and application delivery for end-users.

This role involves deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Citrix solutions while collaborating with various IT teams, including networking, security and end-user support.  The candidate will also participate in projects related to Citrix Cloud migrations, automation initiatives, and continuous service improvements.

The specialist will provide level 3 technical support for complex Citrix related issues, mentor junior team members, document processes, and ensure compliance with security best practices.  The role requires strong expertise in Citrix technologies, proactive problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality end-user experience. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role as a Citrix specialist or administrator.
  • Experience with Agile methodology is required.
  • Experience with scripting and executing PowerShell scripts is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Citrix products, including XenApp, XenDesktop, Netscaler, StoreFront, App-layering, and Provisioning Services. Good knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and virtualization environments.
  • Certifications: Citrix certification (CCA-V, CCP-V, or CCE-V) is highly desired.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain technical concepts to non-technicians.
  • Team Player: Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different departments.
  • Bilingual French and English: Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.

Technologies required:

  • Proficient in Citrix products, including XenApp, XenDesktop, Netscaler, StoreFront, App-layering, and Provisioning Services. Good knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and virtualization environments.
