Capital Markets Developer

Typical Day in Role:
– Documentation and development of workflow based on project requirements
– Testing code and ensuring that any bugs are resolved through troubleshooting
– Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
– Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
– Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
– Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
– Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
– Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
– Will primarily be supporting the enhancement of the existing platform

Must Have Skills/Requirements:
– 10+ years’ progressive experience supporting technology projects
– 5+ years’ hands on Functional Programming experience with Java
– Capital Markets Experience (Capital Markets Technology Systems – fixed income preferred) is required

Nice to Have Skills:
– ION MarketView (MMI) experience or knowledge will be prioritized
– Scala (not with Spark, but core functional Scala experience) is an asset
– Experience with Messaging Systems such as Kafka or Solace
– Experience with KDB (KX product)

Soft Skills:
– Strong communication skills
– Strong verbal skills – will be working with Traders/Stakeholders
– Strong written skills (technical documentation- documenting and presenting test results)

Education/Certification:
– Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
