Senior Technical Business Analyst x 2
Typical Day in Role:
• Experience working in data management and can provide hands-on support on the implementation according to Data Office playbooks, guidelines, standards, and policies (e.g., documenting initiatives, use cases, data tiering and classification, critical data elements and business data elements)
• Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Performs data profiling, analyzes, and communicates results in support of data quality processes
• Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements
Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:
1. 8+ years of working experience as a Technical Business Analyst
2. Strong experience of business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
3. 5+ years of Data Management background and experience
4. 5+ years of experience with business acumen, data analysis, metadata documentation, and data quality controls skills specifically with respect to analyzing business process controls, sourcing and provisioning of lineage, identifying data quality issues and proposing remediation steps
5. Experience in agile project methodology and artifacts, on software/application development lifecycle in an agile fashion
6. Working knowledge of data flows within a large enterprise
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Familiar with Collibra Data Management Tool
• Knowledge of programming language e.g. Python, SQL, Big Query
• Cloud platforms and related data services knowledge (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)
• Previous experience working in Banking/FI
Soft Skills:
• Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
• Detail oriented and skilled in summarizing and provides insights from complicated processes
• Self-motivated to solve problems and able to work collaboratively with other team members
Education:
• Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field
