Senior Communications/Marketing Specialist – Mutual Funds

Location Address: Toronto – Hybrid model (6 days a Month in office)
Contract Duration: ASAP 1 year
Possibility of extension– Depending on performance and project duration
Number of Positions: 1
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (No overtime)
Reason: Extra support

Project: Designing a dynamic funds website and supporting the business by working closely with product managers, the sales team, and other stakeholders within the business. The project has not started. It has around 10-20 people but the current team is around 2-3 persons.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a highly visible project, opening up doors of opportunities within the organization.

Typical Day in Role:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Acts as a key strategic partner providing recommendations and strategies to build brand equity and awareness for assigned focused area.
• Responsible for developing thoughtful strategic plans to achieve priorities, obtain support from stakeholders, successfully execute, measure and report on success. This includes product launches, growth areas and digital programs.
• Supports a culture of innovation and efficiency; identifying opportunities to automate, improve or eliminate low-value initiatives and maximize ROI.
• Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 10 years of marketing experience and 5 + years of experience in the financial services industry
• Solid understanding of investment products and specifically mutual funds;
• Completion of the CSC (Canadian Securities Course)

Nice-To-Have Skills:
• CFA charter holder or candidate preferred.
• MBA an asset

• Authentic, decisive, resilient, highly collaborative, curious and results-oriented
• Superior writing, research, presentation, and project management skills.
• Strong problem solver who supports the team to navigate challenges and/or asks for help from above when needed.
• Superior writing, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Team player with effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
• Self-managed and results-oriented with sense of ownership is required

Education & Certificates:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing

The best candidate is someone with all of the must-have skills and a good personality and will go above and beyond of the ask. Someone who proposes great ideas.

1st round with the Hiring manager and a teammate – Video call Ms teams 30 – 60 minutes – Talk about work experience, behavioral questions and get to know (no technical assessments or business case required).
2nd round for week of Aug 6th –Hiring manager and Director –30 – 60 minutes – Talk about experience, and behavioral questions.
