Intermediate IT Project Manager

Intermediate IT Project Manager
Location: WFH – Scarborough
Contract Duration: 10 months
Extension: Yes
FTE: TBD
Number of Positions: 1
Schedule Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (flexible)

Summary: This is a large infrastructure program to upgrade Windows/SQL 2008 across our banking clients corporate functions.

Job Responsibilities:
– Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope
– Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising
– Partner closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements
– Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
– Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
– Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
– Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses
– Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
– Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors
– Working with multiple team members, you should be able to successfully migrate/upgrade Windows/SQL 2008 Servers seamlessly without any Business impact.

Qualifications:
1. Overall, we are looking for a Project Manager with 5-7 years of PM experience
2. Prior PM experience managing a project upwards of $1.5 Million Dollars
3. People management and team building skill set, managing a Project Scope of at least 30 people.
4. At least 5 years of prior hands on work experience managing Windows Server upgrades/migrations.
5. Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities

Soft Skills:
1. Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
2. Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions
3. Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment

Nice to Have:
1. PMP is a nice to have
2. At least 5 years of industry experience within Financial or Banking PMP or PMI certification

Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
