Candidate Value Proposition
– The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the back-office transformation for the Canadian Back-office
Typical Day in Role
• Enhancement items that need to be viewed on a regular bases. Management/project will prioritize items and assign to the contractor
• Analysis and typical roles for a BSA
• Running SQL queries and work with Oracle
• Looking at data attributes (related to FX) and ensuring that the data is accurate and complete.
• Working on internal enhancements, as well as meeting regulatory/industry requirements (e.g., ISO20022)
• Ensuring accuracy of the output generated by the system
• May undertake some work on the back end using Unix, if able
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills (in order of priority):
• 3+ years’ back-office technology experience within FX
• 5+ years’ experience working in a relevant capacity as a BSA
• Wallstreet FX: exposure to settlements/payments via SWIFT and CLS, accounting, and confirmations
• Professional experience writing and designing SQL queries (intermediate to advanced skills)
• Hands-on experience with SDLC (testing and technical specifications), as well as a strong understanding of configurations, technical mappings, data attributes
Soft Skills:

Nice to Have Skills:
• Working knowledge of Unix
Best vs Average: FX back-office experience is the top priority when sourcing candidates (emphasis on back office). The best contractor would have direct FX systems experience. Technical aptitude is important, as well as understanding the software development life cycle. In addition, the ideal candidate would have the requested Wallstreet FX functions (accounting, settlements, & confirmations) with technical aptitude.
