BI Analyst

Government Client

No Clearance Required
Toronto, 3 day onsite, 2 days remote

Responsibilities:
Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts.
Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives.
 Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data)
Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
Experience with developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a wide-range of data repositories (relational and multi- dimensional data stores)
Experience with developing automation extraction, cleansing and load scripts
Experience generating research models and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc)
Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process re-engineering and complex data models using UML.
Experience in the use of development tools and business re-engineering software
Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. business, logical, and physical models) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modeling methodology and guidelines

Power BI Skills: 60%
(MUST HAVE) Leveraging business intelligence and creating captivating reports and semantic models for partners using Power BI Workspaces
Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
(MUST HAVE) Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
(MUST HAVE) Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience
(MUST HAVE) Extensive experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling tools using Power BI Semantic Models
(MUST HAVE) Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions. Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data. Also develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts
(MUST HAVE) Extensive experience with Power BI for data model, and creating captivating reports.

 Development Skills: 20%

Information Management and Business Intelligence Skills: 20%
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
• Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes.
• Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
• Hands on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications
