Position Title: Technical Writer
Duration: 6 months
Work Location: Toronto

SUMMARY OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: Security based – addressing security controls against assets

Process Engineer / Technical Writer Specialist duties and responsibilities
• Actively participate in IT projects to understand business requirements and project scope through high level Solution Architect, Design Lead walkthroughs
• Coordinate with IT Project Delivery Leads, Platform, database and application sme to define and align with projects' scope, target timelines, dependencies, estimation on work effort and documentation deliverables to be developed
• As the Process Engineer / Technical Writer SME, drive documentation, by assessing and evaluating controls, and confirms agreed documentations align with audit needs
• Performs document analysis on project and business artifacts to gain understanding of the SOX and regulatory compliance as well as PCI compliance.
• Familiar with technical components to update / create specifications, data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, network diagrams and an asset inventory documentation as outlined for specific Platform, database and application components
• Employ elicitation techniques to capture specific for process support, training documentations with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and Platform, database and application team to ensure understanding of the process align with business requirements and project activities.
• Prepare specification, workflow and build documents based on specified templates
• Ensure process support, training documentations related issues are identified, tracked, reported, escalated appropriately and resolved in a timely manner
• Conduct process support, training documentations walkthroughs to review quality control, and obtain required sign off.
• Ensure timely and efficient process support, training documentations handover and transition of documentations.
• Ensure all process support, training documentations are approved and published
• Guide and orient IT Project Delivery Leads, Platform, database and application sme and IT partners to support process
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and proactively contribute to implementing enhancements and/or process changes

Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• Have 8-10 years related experience in Technology, Tech Writing, Business Analysis or Business Process management roles
• Previous experience working with IT projects and solid understanding of PDLC, SDLC and Document Lifecycle
• Knowledge of IT organization, services and general understanding of internal processes
• Organizational awareness and ability to balance the viewpoints of various technology teams
• Experience in managing and contributing to documentation portal, libraries such as SharePoint and Confluence
• Be a result oriented individual with a commitment to providing an exceptional level of service to our partners and a reputation for “getting things done”
• Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail in order to ensure that service level commitments are met.
• Demonstrate ability to be solution oriented and able to work successfully through changing priorities.
• Strong sense of urgency / ownership / ability to operate independently or as part of larger team
• Thrives in a fast paced environment, managing multiple deadlines, competing priorities and client demands concurrently
• Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written and presentation skills to articulate ideas, share experiences and skills
