Job Title: Capital Markets – Business Analyst
Location Address: WFH (Toronto ON, M5H4B6)
Contract Duration: 6 months + good chance of extension
Project: On going support for multiple projects – primarily projects related to GL conversion projects, taking sub diaries, and onboarding them to enterprise platform. Taking current GL and converting to Peoplesoft.
Typical Day in Role:
– Attending standup and working continuously with all member of agile team
– Gathering and clarifying requirements as business needs
– Performing analysis on trade reporting systems
– Writing test cases, performing testing
– Writing requirements
– Keep team updated frequently
– Learn new applications quickly
– Understanding of regulations and how it impacts banks and trade reporting of these banks
Job Responsibilities:
• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
Qualifications:
• Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
• Ability to solve technical problems/ processes and understand complex details
• Ability to increase operating efficiency with produce high quality technical solutions A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level
• Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
Must Have Skills:
1. 5+ Need to have knowledge of capital markets, capital market trading groups like Scotia GBM would be preferred
2. 5+ years of experience with trading systems
3. 5+ years of experience /knowledge of OTC derivatives.
4. Must have Capital Markets experience within FI and Banking
5. 2+ years of experience/Knowledge of G20 regulations like Dodd frank CFTC, Canadian trade reporting etc.
6. 5+ years with Jira and confluence
7. MS Office, proficient with excel,
8. Agile experience
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) BA certifications
Degrees: Bachelor's degree in business, ideally finance
