Business Systems Analyst
Typical Day in Role:
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business users, product team, managers, and other technology teams, to understand business requirements, processes, and objectives. Analyze and translate these requirements into actional plans and functional specifications.
• Review test plans/strategy to ensure accuracy and sufficient testing coverage of changes being implemented. Identify and address issues, bugs, or discrepancies during testing phases.
• Create and maintain documentation, including flow diagrams, user/technical stories, and confluence. Provide guidance, consultation, and support as it pertains to the team’s systems.
• Identify opportunities for business/technical process improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall operational efficiency to drive productivity and effectiveness.
• Analyze large amounts of data to extract insights, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations throughout the course of business.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Company’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferable from financial/IT industry
2) 3+ years’ experience in SQL
3) 3+ years’ experience with Java – to review, understand code
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Knowledge of system design, data modelling, and software development life cycle (Agile/Waterfall).
2) Google Cloud knowledge & experience preferred
3) Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio or equivalent an asset

• Possesses strong problem solving and analysis skills followed by good ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations and solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problem.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build consensus and obtain cooperation from stakeholders, as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables.
• Ability to adapt and handle multiple tasks/competing priorities simultaneously.
Education:
Under-graduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
