Technical Business Systems Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst to support a major payments modernization initiative. This role will focus on Interac 3.7 and Real-Time Rail (RTR), translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation-ready requirements. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers, QA teams, vendors and operational stakeholders across complex payment systems and integrations. What You Will Do: Translate business requirements into detailed technical and functional specifications. Analyze payment flows, system interactions, integrations and upstream/downstream dependencies. Define API and interface requirements, data mappings, payload structures, validations and error handling. Analyze JSON, XML, REST APIs and ISO 20022 payment messages. Develop system integration requirements, API specifications, sequence diagrams and solution workflows. Partner with Architects, Developers and QA teams throughout design, development, testing and implementation. Support analysis across payment processing, clearing and settlement, reconciliation and exception handling. Qualifications: 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis, Systems Analysis or Solution Analysis experience. Strong background in systems integration and technical requirements analysis. Experience supporting complex financial services or payment platforms. Hands-on experience with API analysis, JSON/XML, data mapping and integration documentation. Strong working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Visio or Lucidchart and SQL. Experience working directly with Architects, Developers and QA teams.
