Business Systems Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join a technology modernization initiative within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of retail lending expertise, hands-on Business Systems Analysis experience, and technical knowledge of APIs and system integrations. What You Will Be Doing: Lead discovery sessions, workshops and requirements-gathering activities with business and technology stakeholders Analyze current-state and future-state lending processes and identify opportunities for improvement Perform functional decomposition of complex business processes and system capabilities Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria Develop and maintain high-quality user stories and product backlogs using Azure DevOps (ADO) Facilitate story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning and requirements prioritization Support Product Owners with MVP definition and release planning Analyze integration requirements across lending platforms, digital channels and enterprise systems Review and interpret API specifications, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation and integration contracts Perform detailed data mapping across user interfaces, APIs, middleware and downstream systems Develop message catalogs, payload mappings and interface specifications Define functional test scenarios and business acceptance criteria Support SIT, UAT, defect triage and functional validation Work closely with business SMEs, Product Owners, architects, developers, QA teams and third-party vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle Your Qualifications: 10+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience, including strong functional decomposition and requirements analysis 5+ years of experience within retail lending, loan origination, underwriting, adjudication or a closely related lending environment Strong understanding of retail lending processes including consumer loans, lines of credit and/or mortgage origination Experience across application intake, credit adjudication, documentation, fulfillment and funding processes 5+ years of hands-on Agile requirements experience, including detailed user stories and acceptance criteria Strong experience managing and grooming backlogs using Azure DevOps Demonstrated experience with API and integration analysis Strong working knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI Hands-on experience with data mapping between UI, APIs and downstream systems Experience with message catalogs, payload mapping and interface specifications Experience supporting functional testing, UAT and defect triage Previous experience working on a large-scale technology transformation, platform modernization or system replacement initiative Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills Nice to Have: Experience implementing, replacing or integrating a Loan Origination System (LOS) Experience working with third-party lending technology vendors Knowledge of API-led integration platforms and modern service architectures Experience with digital banking and customer-facing lending channels Previous experience within a bank, credit union or other financial institution BABOK, CBAP, PMI-PBA or Agile certification
