Story behind the need:
AMA (Anti-Money Laundering and Analytics) Department is looking for a technical writer.
Typical Day in Role:
-Preparing and reviewing of Model Documentation, contributing to the Model Documentation/SharePoint repository
-Working on audit/validation exercises
-Other ad-hoc requests
– Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
– Maintain records and files of work and revisions
– Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
Must haves for the role include:
1. 3 + years' experience able to write complex, technical Model Documentation for various audiences
2. 3 + years' knowledge of technical writing techniques, MS Word and associating formatting, styles, templates etc.
3. Recent (minimum 1-2 projects) working within banking/financial products
4. Strong Computer System knowledge within banking: MS Office (expert), SharePoint/OneDrive (intermediate)
Soft skills:
– Strong written and spoken command of the English language
– Ability to work with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple deliverables at one time in a high pressure deadline driven environment
– Team player with an ability to receive feedback and implement to improve performance, able to work easily with various team members and different stakeholders
Nice to haves include:
-Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (Regulations, Investigations, Models), Banking Transaction monitoring systems
-Knowledge of coding, statistics
-Project Management/Coordination experience
– ACAMS designation
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
