Job title: Technical Support

Location: Scarborough
Work Hours: 12 hour rotational shift (day shift 7am-7pm; night shift 7pm-7am)

 

Story Behind the Need:

-Business Group: GTS- ECCO-Operations & Infrastructure Services is seeking a Technical Support contractor who has a positive attitude and is eager to learn and work in a fast-paced environment. The Technical Support will be providing technical assistance and will be responsible for answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person and via telephone.

 

Candidate Value Proposition:

Technical Support will be supporting all departments of bank, which will give them the opportunity to learn various aspects and levels of the Bank. The contractor can also use this opportunity as a stepping stone to branch into other roles within bank based on their performance.

 

Typical Day in Role:

•Batch processing

•Alert and event monitoring

•Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems, typically of a lower complexity

•May install software or perform hardware testing

•Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors

•Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities

•Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support

 

Candidate Must-Have Skills:

1)Technical Background (1+ years of experience)

2)Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

3)Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software

4)Bachelor’s Degree in related field

5)Ability to work rotating shift

 

Nice to Haves:

1)FI/Tech industry experience

2)Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow, AutoSys, or CA7
