Story Behind the Need
• Business group: GTS – Support Services
• Project: OSFI public cloud disaster recovery execution project. Work with IT owners to ensure all documentation is up to date and can be executed.
• Reason for request: OSFI Public Cloud DR Audit Finding. Regulatory requirement to correct consistency of processes. Internal policies to be brought in line with OSFI requirements.

Typical Day in Role
• Speak with Critical Information Asset (CIA), critical and high rated application/service owners and investigate what documentation is available
• Build a standardized format for documentation
• Convert documentation to standardized type
• Work with various groups in the organization (infrastructure, IT owners, application development)
• Must become familiar with the various applications across the organization and investigate the requirements for the failover
• Coordinate and participate in bi-annual public cloud testing
• Track projected milestones for the project and report regularly on their status to the OSFI program manager (minimum monthly status report)
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 3+ years of progressive technical working experience in a large, Enterprise Information Technology service delivery Operations environment
• Excellent understanding of public cloud technologies (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
• 5+ years of proven experience working with cloud provider (Google, Azure)
• 2+ years of technical understanding/awareness in one or more of the following: Mirroring Technologies, Windows Operating systems, UNIX, DNS
• Previous experience and understanding of disaster recovery
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Previous experience in FI/Banking
• Excellent knowledge on the use of MS Excel to create/maintain pivot tables & macros; plus, perform data analysis.
• Ability to create presentations on MS PowerPoint & incorporate the use of graphics, charts.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills in order to connect with both, a technical or a business functional audience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple assignments
• Strong organizational skills required to meet targeted deadlines
Best vs Average:
• Strong communication skills; being able to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely in a business environment
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Completion of or working towards your Certified Business Continuity (CBCP) is an asset
• Completion of or working towards the completion of an ITIL Foundation certification (versions 2 and/or 3 and/or 4) is an asset
