Talend ETL Code Developer

Typical Day in Role
• Participate in all aspects of a systems development life cycle within the Project team (Requirements Analysis, Design, Development, Test, QA, Implementation and Support)
• Work with business and data analyst to understand data flow and implement mapping and logic changes into code
• Analyze data in Hadoop Big Data environments
• Analyze data sources for integration into Hadoop – structured/semi-structured and unstructured data from various sources
• Liaise between the Project and Devops team, understand aspects of the project that can impact both the teams and ensure service impact is minimized and agreed
• Work in hybrid environment (2 days in office/3 days from home)
• Supporting project needs as phases change, including build of net new code and working on existing code where needed.
• Focus of project is on implementation of a new data source

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• Strong Talend ETL code development skills, 3+ years of experience as ETL code developer using Talend Studio
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Hadoop, Hive/HQL and HDFS
• Hands on experience working in a Devops/Agile environment
• Hands on experience working with Bitbucket and Jenkins (pipelines)

Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Banking/financial industry experience and familiarity with financial instruments, and financial management reporting processes
• Tidal and Sqoop experience is an asset
