Group Benefit’s client reporting department is a dynamic unit accountable for generating financial reports for approximately 350 clients. The client financial reporting function demands solutions that evolve through flexible and patient work-around of Group’s multiple systems.
The successful incumbent will be expected to assist in providing long-term client-oriented solutions as well as supporting day-to-day operations. The position reports to the Manager, Client Reporting and will be primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of streamlined reporting systems/tools. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work effectively under minimal guidance and direction, particularly in the area of using sound, independent judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills. The ideal candidate must have the ability to meet, prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and tasks and thrives on challenges and pressures of a deadline driven environment.
Qualifications:
External SKILLS Essential:
– Strong working knowledge of MS EXCEL and related macros, Visual Basic programming, MS Access
– Sound understanding of SQL
– Experience in developing systems/tools- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
– Strong analytical skills
– Strong team player
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Helpful:
– Experience in the client financial reporting function
– Knowledge of underwriting practices, specifically related to financial reporting- Basic understanding of accounting principles
– Bilingual (English and French)
