Senior Technical Business Analyst x 2
Typical Day in Role:
• Experience working in data management and can provide hands-on support on the implementation according to Data Office playbooks, guidelines, standards, and policies (e.g., documenting initiatives, use cases, data tiering and classification, critical data elements and business data elements)
• Provides input to end-to-end data flows and lineage from capture at source, to storage, to delivery and its business intent at each stage (i.e., capture, transformation, fragmentation, editing)
• Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Performs data profiling, analyzes, and communicates results in support of data quality processes
• Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
• Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:
1. 8-10+ years of experience with business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows within a large enterprise
2. 8-10+ years of experience with data management framework, and can trace data elements at origination and as they move between systems including any transformations
3. 8-10+ years of experience and understanding of data concepts (metadata, data mapping, data quality, data modeling, etc.)
4. 8-10+ years of working knowledge on data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Previous financial industry experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Familiarity with Data Management Tools – Collibra is preferred
• Knowledge of a programming languages
• Experience in agile project methodology and artifacts, on software/application development lifecycle in an agile fashion
• Cloud platforms and related data services knowledge (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)
Soft Skills:
• Very detail oriented and skilled in summarizing and providing insights from complicated processes
• Self-motivated to solve problems independently and able to work collaboratively with other team members
• Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences
Education:
• Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics, or related field
