GROUP/PROJECT INFO:
The Loan Exposure Analytics Platform (LEAP) is the primary platform used by Risk and Capital Solutions. The platform provides a secure, automated management system for the highly bespoke trades that Risk and Capital Solutions creates.
The LEAP team is looking to engage another junior contractor with capabilities in the analytics space as well as development. The role of this candidate will be to maintain or enhance the web UI or services used by the trading desk as well as provide model integration and handle analytics diagnostics. As R&CS has ramped up, the present small team has been stretched to provide the enhancements and support necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
We are looking for a junior developer in a consulting role for our loan exposure team. The role requires technical abilities with web, database, and software programming. In addition, the candidate must be able to learn new quantitative models and incorporate them into software. Communication skills are very important as taking direction and providing advice to the trading desk is required. Typical tasks include:
· Enhancing client-side web UI or server-side code for the web services used by the trading desk
· Incorporating model changes into the software stack
· Enhancing the database that backs the analytics
· Diagnosing and improving spreadsheets used by trading
TOP SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
· A university degree in a technical field with a strong mathematics background
· Hands on experience with a C-family language (C/C++/Java/C#)
· Broad experience in software programming desirable
· Experience with web technologies (such as React) is a plus
SOFT SKILLS:
· Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of varying technical ability
· Strong problem solving skills and an ability to think independently
· An ability to understand basic finance concepts
EDUCATION:
· Masters of Mathematical Finance, or a bachelors in Mathematics or Physics *
· Very recent university graduates will be considered from a bachelors (or higher level) math program*
