Quality Engineer

Position Overview Daily activities: Write moderate to complex code/ scripts to test systems. Design, develop and maintain a modular, extensible and reusable test automation framework to enable continuous testing in an agile environment. Accelerate adoption of the testing automation framework by demonstrating stakeholder value. Collaborate with the Delivery Lead to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery and escalate issues as needed. Prioritize testing of projects effectively across various businesses, to drive efficient work. Conduct root cause analysis of post-production issues and plan to prevent them in future. Have in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the organization’s products, applications, systems, enironments, processes and tools. Introduce and influence overall process improvements and act as an agent for change to the organization. Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with the client’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Recommend production releases based on QA outcomes and risk assessments. Design and maintain QAT test plans and quality documentation, balancing risk mitigation with optimal resource use. Must-have requirements: 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably in a banking environment Experience with Customer data and Customer systems, preferably in a mainframe environment Experience with testing data transformations, data migrations and batch jobs Evaluate test results, resolve defects with development teams and escalate critical issues. Jira and Confluence experience to create test cases Preferred Qualifications • Experience with API testing (Nice to have) • In-depth knowledge of programming languages (Python, Javascript, Java), testing frameworks and utilities • Previous experience with SQL and Mainframe Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Able to work as part of a team and encourage both individual and collaborative innovation • Positive and resilient personality - Able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision-making across stakeholders • Effective organization, planning and time management skills Education and Certification • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred
