Story Behind the Need:
Summary: The main function of a QA Test Analyst is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution.
Job Responsibilities:
– Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
– Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
– Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
– Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
– Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
– Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
– Create or maintain databases of known test defects
– Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
Typical Day in Role:
– Develop Test Strategies for project delivery.
– Develop Test scenarios and queries for frontend, DB level and E2E testing scripts
– Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
– Ability to produce dashboards and reports for sprints or code releases.
– Document software defects, and report to software developers.
– Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
– Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
– Some GUI Front end and back end testing will be required
Must Have Skills:
1. 3+ years of hands on experience with ETL/ SQL from quality assurance and testing perspective.
2. Knowledge in extraction, cleansing and modification of data from/to various data sources such as flat files and databases.
3. 3+ years of hands of experience in database/backend testing. (writing and verifying results of medium to high complexity SQL & PL/SQL queries) & creation of functions and stored procedures)
4. Experience working on end-to-end Software Testing Life Cycle projects
5. 1+ year of experience with Unix/Linux system commands
6. 2+ years of experience working with Agile methodology
7. Good Knowledge of JIRA, confluence
8. 3+ Prior Canadian or FI experience
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Prior bank experience – asset
Degrees or certifications
– Bachelor's degree or diploma in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
