Python Developer x 2

Typical Day in the Role:
– Develop software solutions by studying information needs, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes
– Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability
– Collaborate with Business Analysts who carry out the detailed investigation into software requirements and will communicate the changes required to the system
– Conferring with project managers to obtain information on software capabilities
– Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces based on business requirements
– Working with Linux operating system to complete project tasks

Must Have Skills:
– 5-7 years of Developer Experience (Front or Back end)
– 3-5 years of recent Python/PySpark experience
– Prior Financial Institution experience
– Strong Familiarity with Linux OS

Nice to Have:
– Prior Apache Nifi experience would be beneficial for this position
– Prior FI Compliance experience/knowledge also beneficial but team is willing to train
Soft Skills:
– Strong verbal/written communication skills
– Time management abilities
– Ability to take initiative and work independently

Degrees or certifications:
Post Secondary Education in Comp Science or Engineering
