Python Developer- PLSQL/SQL

Typical Day in Role:
• Work with senior team members (architects, developers, testers) to develop and implement data solutions for finance reporting systems
• Analyze data in both Financial Systems and Big Data environments, perform data modeling
• Support senior team members through research assignments and proof of concepts
• Facilitate UAT testing for system migration and new initiatives
• Report development and support for internal customers; including executives
• Discuss with business partners and participate in investigations
• Work on short automation project for the team
• Facilitate UAT testing for system migration and new initiatives

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years of experience as a Developer or Programmer
2) 5+ years of experience with PLSQL/SQL – expert level
3) 3+ years of experience with Python – basic level
4) 2-3+ years’ experience using SAS (statistical analysis system) skills (stats – may not use the packages per se but apply the same transferable skills
5) 3+ years of strong Data Modelling experience

Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Capital Markets experience (general knowledge and understanding, if specific, fixed income experience would be an asset)
2) Accounting skills – basic level
3) Experience within FI/banking

Soft Skills Required:
• Articulation/Communication of the problem statement
• Be proactive
• Responsive

Education:
Post-Secondary – Master’s preferred
Accounting/finance knowledge with computer science/data sciences certification is preferred
