Story Behind the Need:
Project: Seeking a seasoned Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities as part of the strategic review of the Bank's QI (Qualified Intermediary) Tax Program. Candidates will require extensive exposure to Tax Operations functions within Capital Markets and have experience of the periodic certification to the IRS. The candidate will be involved in an end to end analysis of current state and will build out the strategic roadmap for enhancements.

Typical Day in Role:
– Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project
– Phase 1 – Maturity Assessment – Initiation and support of an RFP for consultancy services that will review the Target Operating Model as it pertains to the banks processes, controls and governance of the Qualified Intermediary (QI) regulatory requirements
– The end goal of this assessment is a End-to-End Strategic Redesign Roadmap that defines enhancements required across key pillars of the program (4-6 months)
– Identify gaps through current state analysis
– Build out strategic roadmap to address necessary changes to current state, and work through those enhancements
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years of Tax / QI related project work in a capital markets environment
2) 7+ years of FI Project Management experience, leading large scale multi-stakeholder projects – 5MM-10MM projects
3) Strong knowledge of the IRS Qualified Intermediary Agreement and associated filing, reporting, and certification process – demonstrated in recent project work
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Experience in a FI operations environment

– Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with ability to work and collaborate across all levels of the organization
– Strong presentation skills, with ability to tailor materials and detail to respective audience, and clearly articulate status and risks and issues
– Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills essential
– Excellent E.I. (Emotional Intelligence) to determine risk scenarios and when to escalate and when to strategically influence
– Excellent organizational leadership skills
– Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
Degrees or certifications:
– Post Secondary education
– PMP certification – preferred
– Change Management (nice to have) – CCMP, CMP
– Accounting and/or tax law (nice to have)
