Project Control Officer – Reporting Analyst
One of Nexus Group's financial services clients is in need of a Sr. Project Control Officer who specializes in project financials and management reporting.

Financial
• Responsible for project finances, i.e. budgeting, actuals, variances, invoicing, accruals,
Reporting
• Provides support and reporting requirements for activities associated with project governance
• Responsible for recurring reporting i.e. governance, executive
• Responsible for the data and validation of reporting requirements
Database management
• Contributor for database management for capacity planning
Contract Management and Processing
• Responsible for aspects of the contract management process: onboarding, off boarding, funding confirmation, template completion, contract management system, submission processing, and follow up with finance / support functions for physical, system access
• Documentation, create document for project related activities, i.e. NIRA templates (risk assessments), audit and compliance requirements
• Administrative keying task input system, traceability (contract trackers)
• Ensures all project related documentation is version controlled and housed in a centralized repository
• Process improvements to support organizational agile/lean transformation
• Responsible for providing project support services; applying all project management standards and templates to support the project schedule management; project risk, issues, action and change management; dashboard reporting
• Builds and maintains a strong working relationship with peers within the business lines and parallel support functions.
Key Competencies/Work Experience
• 4-6 years reporting and analytics experience
• Advanced MS Excel skills required to manage, track and report the project budget (VLookup, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas, MS Access)
• Excellent analytical skills to creatively develop solutions to resolve issues
• Ability to handle multiple projects of varying complexity in a team environment, as well as thorough understanding of project management tools and techniques
• Self-driven, accountable and takes ownership
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Collaborative team player
• Experience with Financial Institutions preferable
• Works closely with reporting analyst & program manager
• Experience in Agile environment
• SQL experience an asset
• Working knowledge of Smartstream (Scotiabank finance tool) considered an asset
• Working knowledge of Confluence/JIRA considered an asset
• Internal Stakeholders: IT&S and Canadian Banking Finance Teams, Transit Leaders, Support Functions
• External Stakeholders: Bank approved Vendors
• Working Team: Operations Team within Digital Banking Unit Canada
