Product Owner
Typical Day in Role:
• Research, discovery, and solutioning for new capabilities and enhancements to meet Open Banking framework requirements and further develop the product backlog
• Develop scope documents and product briefs to bridge understanding gaps
• Partner with design and engineering teams ensuring incremental releases tracking toward enabling priority use cases on the Open Banking roadmap
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, product teams, and business lines to manage expectations, requirements, and capabilities’ enhancements.
• Keep current on market and industry trends and developments and potential roles they could play within the Open Banking roadmap.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner Role working closely with engineering and design teams
2. 3+ years of experience working within an Agile environment demonstrating expert organizational acumen
3. Demonstrated experience writing user stories and product documentation
4. 3+ years’ experience using JIRA
5. 3+ years’ experience Confluence
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1. Experience working with Digital journeys (Front and Backend) and/or delivering technology projects
2. Demonstrated understanding of APIs and microservices
3. Banking / Financial Services experience is preferred but not required
4. Any hands-on experience with technical architecture, or an engineering background is preferred
5. Knowledge and demonstrated ability of product strategies and processes and vendor management experience
Soft Skills Required:
• Candidate will be communicating with senior level individuals on a day to day
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate complex concepts with increasingly senior shareholders and integrate work and priorities across multiple teams
• This individual will be communicating with individuals across all levels of the bank so the communication skills must be the highest level and proven in past experiences working with several senior individuals
• Candidate must be a team player, that does not need to be micromanaged – wants someone who can get up and hit the ground running everyone morning without necessarily being told what to do
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight
• Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
• Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism
• Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Masters or equivalent strongly preferred
Scrum Product Owner certification preferred
