Job Description

Summary This position supports a discrete project, and will be responsible for reviewing deal documentation, identifying secured collateral filings in the US (UCC statements) and Canada (e.g., PPSAs), and extracting information to facilitate tracking those filings. The role requires familiarity with loan documentation and collateral filings in either the US or Canada, or preferably both. Prior paralegal or similar experience, proficiency in Excel, and ability to work independently with close attention to detail are prerequisites. Job Responsibilities • Reviewing loan and deal documentation • Identifying and analyzing secured collateral filings in Canada (PPSA) and the US (UCC) • Extracting and tracking filing information in Excel • Ensuring data accuracy and completeness • Working independently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail Day-to-Day Responsibilities Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Review legal and financing documentation • Research and validate PPSA and UCC filings • Extract and organize filing data in Excel • Maintain tracking logs and reporting records • Collaborate with internal stakeholders as required Qualifications & Experience Performance Measures • Accuracy of documentation reviews • Quality and completeness of data extraction • Timely completion of assigned work • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance Required Skills • Strong knowledge of PPSA (Canada) and/or UCC filings (US) • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and exceptional attention to detail • Previous experience working in a law firm, legal department, or similar legal environment • Experience reviewing legal, loan, or financing documentation • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Soft Skills • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Preferred Skills Preferred Qualifications • Paralegal diploma/certification or related legal education • Experience supporting secured lending, commercial lending, or collateral documentation processes • Exposure to both Canadian and US collateral filing requirements
