Network Provisioning – Field Inspector (London)

Field Inspector Description:
This role consists of a mixed working environment, split between the office and outside fieldwork (e.g. inspections, site visits, etc.).  Office work would consist of preparing and monitoring vendors schedules, reviewing vendor billing and other admin tasks.  The role also includes daily field visits to active construction sites, ongoing inspection of vendors overall quality (e.g. health and safety checks, traffic management set ups, etc.), and monitoring of vendors build status to schedule.

  3. Valid G Class Ontario Drivers License (and access to a vehicle)

Job Duties / Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform tasks such as the following:

  • Program delivery
  • Ensure risks are identified and establish a mitigation plan
  • Knowledge of traffic management set ups
  • Knowledge of health and safety checks
  • Prime interface with key stakeholders
  • Provide problem-solving leadership to project team in project scope, timeline, functions, etc.
  • Track and report on project progress
  • Provide support to the prioritization and escalation process
  • Develop / maintain working relationships
  • Participate in the development of new processes and improvements to existing ones
  • Financial management of assigned projects
  • Forecasted vs. Planned vs. Actual                                        

Critical Requirements / Competencies:

  • Background knowledge / working experience with outside plant installation, maintenance, or construction
  • Valid G Class Ontario Drivers License (and access to a vehicle)
  • Capable / willing to work in various weather conditions
  • Project management experience
  • Experience coaching and motivating others
  • Self directed and motivated individual
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task/time manage/prioritize
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement and take appropriate action
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire employee involvement and teamwork
  • PC Proficient – Intermediate to Advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
