Kafka Developer

Typical Day in Role
• Write microservices that would publish and consume from Kafka
• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 5+ years hands-on experience with latest versions of Java and Spring Boot
• 3+ years’ experience with Kafka Integration (consumer/producer) and Avro
• 2+ years’ experience Nifi
• Working knowledge of SQL (building queries, etc.)

Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Experience working with Spark
• Celer API is a plus
• Working knowledge of ORACLE DB (building queries, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Linux
• IBM MQ Experience is an asset

Soft Skills:
• Strong communication
• Team player
• Problem solving skills

Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Spring framework or cloud certifications are an asset
