Business group: Global high Value Payments Technology
Project: SWFIT and Payments Canada ISO 20022 initiatives are mandatory for Scotiabank. Payments Canada's Industry testing is starting in February 2022. Quality Assurance resources are required to augment the team so that all industry milestones are successfully achieved in time. With the current team capacity there is risk that we will not be able to meet the industry timeline resulting in reputational risk
– ISO 20022 focuses on the new payment message format from Swift to payments to Canada.

Typical Day in Role
– Main position is QA activities – testing within banking ecosystem and other banks, payments to Canada
– Executing test cases, logging defects
– 4-5 current QA / QC testers
– Day starts as a true agile project, daily stand up scrum meetings
– Spring planning test scheduling and test plan
– In sprint Testing & Regression
– Testing Mobile trading platform, microservices , API’s and transactions.
– Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
– Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
– Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability Document software defects,
using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
– Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
– Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
– Create or maintain databases of known test defects
– Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
– Experience testing Equity , Options
– Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports
– Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing
– Ability to Run Monthly Releases
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 1+ years of experience as QA Engineer / Analyst – working specifically within Payments Technology domain is preferred
2) 1+ years of experience with manual testing –
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Experience working with the payments domain will be preferred
– Experience within Banking is preferred
– Automation testing

– Excellent communications skills
– Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight

Degrees or certifications:
– A recognized undergraduate degree is required, preferably in computer science or related
