Story Behind the Need
• Business group: GWRT-GCMT-Prime Services Technology US
• Project: Prime Services Data Interface (PSDI) Modernization project involves upgrading our banking clients PSDI framework upgrading software and infrastructure from legacy hardware to cloud environment. Prime Service Data Interface provides data warehouse that is used for reporting and feeds other internal and external systems. In addition to data warehouse, PSDI also provides standard ETL features to extract, transform, load and distribute data. The project currently in flight involves working with team to develop and port PSDI code onto the new environment.

• Reason for request: Prime Services Operational and Infrastructure Modernization (CPBL0003) – backfill.
Candidate Value Proposition
– The successful candidate will act as developer for Prime Services Data Interface (PSDI) platform. This is a hands-on role with strong knowledge in software development. Candidate should be comfortable working either individually or in a team setting.
Typical Day in Role
– This is a hands-on role that requires a candidate to perform development, unit testing, automated deployment, integration, and UAT testing on PSDI platform
– Perform Java/J2EE-based system development tasks for PSDI platform
– Perform system level testing to identify and fix compatibility issues.
– Perform unit testing ensuring quality prior to handing off for user acceptance testing
– Perform implementation of approved changes into production by adhering to the change release management procedures and provide post-release support
– Analyze and understand the deliverables as per project needs and work on the allocated tasks based on priority.
– Work closely with the different streams as part of system testing.
– Maintain and manage the version control system (Bitbucket)
– Primarily working with existing code and modules, with some opportunity to create net new code
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
– 6-8 years looking for the following technology Skills: Java, J2EE (Servlets, JDBC, EJB, JSP, JMS), JavaScript, Spring framework, XML, Unix scripting, Release management tools
– 6-8 years’ experience using SQL on databases such as Oracle, Sybase etc.
– Hands on experience in networking security, databases and Linux systems
– Understanding of Software design and software development lifecycle
– Experienced with some of these tools (GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, Gradle, Splunk)
– 6-8 years of experience in financial industry (capital markets)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Experience with Prime Services a plus
– Technology Skills: Webservice, PL/SQL, Perl, Python, Tomcat/Weblogic, Version control
– Knowledge of Angular JS is a strong plus
– Knowledge in various scripting languages, system & server administration
– Wide knowledge in operating system administration, programing languages, CI/CD deployment and networking protocols
– Past experience with system ownership a plus.
– Past experience of having worked on system migration project a plus.
Soft Skills:
– Good communication skills and ability to work directly with others
– Strong sense of ownership for system stability and capacity.
Best vs Average: Depth of knowledge in the projects that they’ve worked on (e.g. ability to articulate on projects, software languages, and implications of their work during interview). Ability to see bigger picture is valued. Strong software skills displayed in interview and ability to expand on points in resume.
