Java Developer
Typical Day in Role:
– Collaborating closely with a team of UI developers, backend API developers, business system analysts, and architects to work on both new features and incremental improvements to the bank’s Online banking and provide your technical expertise towards success of the development team
– Working with product owners, business system analysts, architects, and other technical leads to solution new features reviewing pull requests in Bitbucket
– Working on sprint tasks i.e. coding solutions, helping to triage any issues our quality assurance testers may find, or any issue raised by production support
– Communicating closely with the team on Slack throughout the day
– Programming in JSF, jQuery, SpringBoot, Sybase
– Troubleshooting any issues in the test environment
– Work with stakeholders such as BA, PO, Client application developers, iOS, android developers, etc.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 7+ years of proficient experience using J2EE to develop and support Enterprise Applications and Services
2. 5+ years with JavaScript, JQuery, JSF or JSP, HTML, CSS (either/combination of these)
3. 5+ years of experience using JAVA Spring Framework and Sybase
4. 5+ years of experience working on projects that involve Application Security like oAuth2 and/or SSO
5. 3+ years’ working in an Agile environment
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1. Hands-on experience with WebSphere, Apache Tomcat or similar
2. Angular, ReactJs Hibernate is an asset
3. Hands-on experience with Docker, Cloud, CI/CD on Jenkins
4. Experience within banking/financial services an asset

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering or related field required
