Job Title: Project Manager
Description: Location: WFH currently with return to Toronto office
8+ yrs of professional experience – Responsible for management of IT delivery of an Ivalua implementation, following software development lifecycle best practices.
Develop and manage IT project plan and oversee progress of technical milestones. Employ IT project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project. Identify, coordinate, and manage IT resources and key stakeholders for the implementation. Ensure effective IT change management occurs throughout the course of the project. Manage IT communication plans, training, and documentation. Ensure IT deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and within scope. Communicate status of IT deliverables to stakeholders on a regular basis throughout the lifecycle of the project. Position requires excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills. Proficient knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. 5+ years of hands-on experience in project management is required. IT Project Manager will be responsible for leading the effort to complete the technical deliverables through the project delivery cycle for an Procurement system/application for our Procurement business partners. Experience in the delivery of Procurement systems will be an asset. The effort centers on integrations with a SaaS solution. The project will be run as a hybrid waterfall/agile effort.
Soft Skills: The IT PM will need to be able to quickly understand the scope of our effort and plan for the completion, able to gain consensus and drive deliverables with our business sponsors. Our environment is Global and some flexibility to work across time zones with Asia may be required. Other assets include basic understand of Insurance and Financial Services; Excellent Stakeholder Management; Communication and presentation skills; Team management & effective resource management skills required as the team members will not directly report to the PM or belong to project sponsoring vertical.
Technical Skills: Waterfall and Agile experience, PMP or CSM designations will be required. Formal engineering or technical education will be an asset. Experience in implementing SaaS tools. Must-have: • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, provide status updates, manage budget and stakeholder communications • Proactively identify IT risks and issues on projects – leading team to develop risk management and issues management plans • Prior experience of working in matrix organizations and multiple vendor resources is required. • Having prior experience working on Procurement projects • Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall principles • Monitors and manages project baseline to ensure activities are occurring as planned – scope, budget and schedule – manages variances • Identifies potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget • Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously • Ability to work independently and handle uncertainty
Domain Knowledge : Procurement systems, SaaS tools, Jira, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Development life cycle delivery • 5+ yrs. of experience in managing global projects from inception till deployment stage • Prior experience of managing Procurement system projects is preferred • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams; experience with API integrations; experience managing all technical deliverables is a must
