Story Behind the Need:
Business Group: FCRMT- Application Development is seeking a developer for the Investigator Hub (iHub) project. The project’s goal is to migrate the existing functionality of a custom built Anti-Money Laundering (AML) system to the Investigation Hub (iHub) product from Oracle. There are numerous existing and required business flows and data flows that will need to be understood, migrated, enhanced and unit tested. Project has begun and the candidate will be required to hit the ground running from a technology perspective.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Development the developer will provide technical and operational assessments of requirements and contribute to design process for improving systems and business processes in order to deliver operational efficiency, positive employee and customer experience, and to satisfy regulatory requirements.

Typical Day in the Role:
• Work closely with project management and Business Analysts to plan and work on next-in-priority technical items
• Responsible for the technical design, development, code reviews, deployment, strong coding standards for efficiency
• Accountable for the development activities for projects assigned (including related sub-projects)
• Within the context of the assigned programs/projects, responsible for providing regular communications with technical stakeholders
• Act as the subject matter expert for the projects assigned and be able to summarize progress/challenges to leadership

Experience / Education:
• FCC Studio notebooks, or any other equivalent AML application experience from the development perspective
• Data modelling
• Understand requirements, design and implement technical solution within the application ecosystem
• Sound technical acumen, with demonstrated agility in learning and ability to quickly become comfortable with unfamiliar areas of technologies
• Solves complex technical issues which may require facilitation of multiple senior resources
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex issues
• Help manage and maintain the end-to-end batch and provide second level technical support
• Incumbent possesses project management skills to map and execute, short and long term plans for the team

Must Have Skills:
1) Oracle FCC Studio or relatable AML technology platform experience-1+ years of hands on experience
2) Data modelling (2+ years of hands on experience)
3) SQL scripting (2+ years of hands on experience)
4) Python scripting (2+ years of hands on experience)
5) Java scripting (2+ years of hands on experience)

Nice to Have Skills:
– Agile and DevOps team experience
– Hands on experience with other AML applications, i.e. NICE Actimize, Fircosoft, FINTRAC reporting
– FI/Banking Industry experience

Soft Skills:
– Strong communication skills – written & verbal (internally facing, may have to lead a few things with internal tech team, or interface with other tech teams at the Bank)
– Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
– Documentation skills so that all work released is able to easily be understood and supported by the existing operation team

Education:
– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Interview Process:
– 1 round of non-technical “fit” video interviews followed by selected candidates joining a second round technical panel video interview. Both through Microsoft Teams
