Role Mandate:
The BMO InvestorLine team is looking to backfill a Communications Specialist role to support the planning, development, execution, and measurement of internal communications. This role helps ensure employees receive clear, timely, and engaging information that supports business priorities, change initiatives, and organizational goals. The successful candidate is a strong writer, collaborative partner, and organized project coordinator with experience managing communications across multiple channels.
Team Structure:
This role primarily works with the Hiring Manager, but at times collaborates Change Management and other cross-functional teams. The role will operate within the broader InvestorLine Strategy & Platforms team of approximately 15 employees.
Role Responsibilities:
Communication Support & Coordination
• Draft internal business communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with InvestorLine's strategy and the BMO brand.
• Translate complex business initiatives and project updates into clear, concise, and engaging communications for internal audiences.
• Manage email formatting and distribution to optimize readability, accessibility, and impact across platforms.
• Track and analyze communication performance against defined KPIs, including open rates, click-through rates, and engagement metrics.
• Develop reporting summaries that translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
• Maintain communication calendars and support the coordination of communication deliverables across multiple initiatives.
Digital Communication Channel Management
• Manage and maintain InvestorLine's internal communication channels, including the intranet, ensuring content is accurate, current, and easy to navigate.
• Create, publish, and update intranet content, news articles, announcements, and resource pages.
• Monitor channel performance and engagement metrics, identifying opportunities to improve reach, awareness, and employee experience.
• Support content governance by maintaining publishing standards, content inventories, and review processes.
• Recommend new approaches and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of digital communication channels.
Event Management
• Support the planning and execution of internal events, including town halls, leadership meetings, and employee engagement sessions.
• Coordinate agendas, logistics, communications, and post-event follow-up activities.
• Assist in developing event materials, including presentations, speaking notes, briefing documents, and run-of-show plans.
• Support audience engagement strategies and event measurement activities.
• Design and presentation development experience is considered an asset.
Cross Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, validate messaging, and ensure communications reflect business priorities and stakeholder needs.
• Partner closely with Change Management teams to support business initiatives and translate change impacts into clear and effective communications.
• Align communications with change strategies, project timelines, and organizational objectives.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging across channels and initiatives.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, employee engagement, or a related discipline. Candidates who can be considered “overqualified” should not be submitted.
• Hands-on experience creating, publishing, and maintaining content in SharePoint and other digital communications platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience managing digital communication channels and content management systems, including intranet platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Core Skills

Interviews:
2 rounds, 45 min over teams. The first will be with the HM while the second will include the one-up manager
