The successful candidate will report to the Director – Strategy and work closely with both technology and project delivery teams.
Business group: Delivers the tools, technologies and systems underpinning the Finance and Risk Management organizations for the Bank. To support the technology go-live for one of the critical programs in our project portfolio, client is looking for a Communications Manager to support the development and delivery of program messaging, digital channels, and training/learning collaterals for our stakeholders around the globe.
Project: A global program delivering technology change for multiple stakeholder groups in the Finance/Banking & Markets groups requires a communications manager to handle the creation of materials and digital resources (e.g. quick reference guides, infographics, training documentation, video content, learning sessions, exec and deployment messaging) in support of the program.

Typical Day in the role:
– Be the point person for translating what the given technology (HAMMER) will provide to the business stakeholders
– Responsible for taking all the technical language and translating that into meaningful, actionable items for the stakeholders and other internal employees
– Responsible for setting up digital channels whether it be as simple as handling emails or setting up new internal sites to be accessed by internal employees
– Produce a wide variety of multi-media materials that communicate strategic priorities, foster dialogue, and inspire a culture of curiosity: this will include blogs, video, infographics, event collaterals, learning materials and How To guides
– Provide design insight for any of the UX components as they relate and help build visually appealing sites while focusing on ease of use for the business stakeholders as well
– Assisting with the creation of learning and training support materials
– Working with the technology team to build out the training methods as well
– Compiling or putting together a skeleton training deck
– More than anything this candidate will be a communications specialist and would be able to understand technical writing and turning it into something anyone could decipher with little to no training
– Someone who is interested in learning how they handle on-demand training
Must have hard skills:
1. 5-7 years of communications experience encompassing copy/content writing, online publishing, communications planning, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders
2. 3-5 years of experience producing a wide array of multimedia digital materials targeted to audience and aligned to specific strategic perspective
3. 3-5 years of large enterprise experience gained in the context of online channels, IT deployments, digital strategy, or client experience delivery
4. Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite with robust PowerPoint skills
Nice to have hard skills:
1. Recent relevant experience with a financial institution, insurance company, or other highly-matrixed, global, regulated/publicly-traded enterprise
2. Background in graphic design or user experience design
3. Experience working in technology particularly in the context of a global Bank
4. Experience using internal social media platforms with particular value placed on the JIVE platform
5. Some knowledge of web design and/or html; deep understanding of social intranet platforms; expert knowledge of PowerPoint
6. Experience working with finance teams (knows about accruals)
Soft Skills:
– Excellent communications skills to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization
– Outstanding writing and communications skills including proven ability to write to target and brand voice across multiple formats (e.g. web, social media, formal presentations, training/reference materials)
– Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight
– Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
– Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism
– Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding
Education/ years of overall experience: Undergraduate degree in an area such as journalism, creative writing, English, mass communications; post-graduate qualifications or IABC membership strong assets
