Job Title: Capital Markets Specialty Developer – Java, Python, Unix
Location Address: WFH (Toronto, ON)
Contract Duration: 6-month contract + good chance of extension
This group maintains risk management systems for business users (maintaining the VAR – Market Risk System). The system involves two back end databases (and the request impacts FRTB Project)
• Project: FRTB Project: Value Add Risk application that is reviewing trading deals and ensuring that the value is minimal risk. The project will focus on reviewing of all trading books.

Typical Day in Role
• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5 + years’ experience development in Unix Environments to troubleshoot, test and run Shell Scripts
2) 5 + years’ experience development functional development with Java OR Python as well as enhance existing codes (all applications are built with end of day batch jobs that will require use of Microservices) –
3) 3 + years’ using any Relational Database (PostGres preferred)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Market Risk Experience within VAR is a big plus and will be prioritized
– Front Office Trading application experience is a plus
– Credit Risk experience is a plus
– Recent Project experience with Google Cloud (GCP) is a plus
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Certifications: Relatable certifications are a plus
