Capital Markets Business Analyst – OTC 
Location Address: WFH (once on site – Toronto)
Contract Duration: 6 months – possibility of extension & conversion to FTE
Number of Positions: 1
Schedule Hours: 9-5, Mon-Fri

Story Behind the Need
Business group: GWRT – Regulatory & Compliance Technology
Project: Rebuilding the regulatory reporting system of OTC Capital Markets. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting Trade Reporting Onboarding. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Regulatory Initiatives and will make the connection between the information that is fed through from multiple sources.
Reason for request: Workload – BA for Regulatory Platform Modernization Project (RPM)

Candidate Value Proposition:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build long lasting relationships within Capital Markets. This candidate will be a key driver in ensuring stakeholders communication with the IT team is streamlined utilizing various technologies within Trading systems. They will also be working with new technologies (Kafka, Kubernetes, MinIO, Dremio, etc.) as well as have an opportunity to work with different trade systems (Murex, Wallstreet, Object Charlie, Scotts, SwapOne).

Typical Day in Role:
• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies – key stakeholders are within the regulatory, business, operations, trading systems and onboarding teams
• Breakdown of role: 50% is working on requirements for enhancements or fixes; 50% is coordinating the project release cycles – testing, working with developers to build, communicating the business status
• Accountabilities: complete and build requirements, able to ensure that what is built is in line with the regulatory standards of the industry
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
• Manage resolution of service delivery – escalate issues, lead service recovery teams, ensure that root cause analysis is conducted
• Participate in the testing of change requests including IST, UAT, and post implementation verification
• Ensure internal support processes are understood, documented, validated, updated & communicated to key stakeholders.
• Performs data analysis, mapping and lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst – proven capability in delivering projects with quick timelines
2. 3+ years of experience with OTC regulatory reporting (SEC, CFTC, CSA, EMIR, HKMA, MAS)
3. 3+ years of experience with financial derivatives (CDS, Equity Swaps, Equity Forwards, FX Swaps, Bond Forwards etc.)

Nice-To-Have Skills:
1. Experience with JSON and Elastic Search is a plus
2. Experience with SQL to read, write and query data
3. Experience with Wallstreet or Murex Trading systems is a plus
4. Global Markets support is a big plus
5. 3 + years’ industry related experience within IT banking (capital markets is an asset but not required) as a Business Systems Analyst

Soft Skills Required:
– Excellent communication skills to support the operations team throughout the OTC Space

Education:
• Undergraduate degree

Additional Note: RECENT experience in regulatory reporting is preferred.
