Business Analyst- Capital Markets
Typical Day in Role:
– Perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications.
– Work with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
– Gather requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
– Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
– Support one or more highly complex business processes
– Works on multiple projects as a project team member
– Serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
– Working with market risk concepts, in particular will be working with RiskWatch.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
– 7+ years of previous experience as a Business Analyst
– 3+ years of RECENT experience within Capital Markets and risk systems knowledge:
1) Market risk knowledge and experience is critical to success in the role
2) Seeking resources with either extensive market risk experience, or experience with RiskWatch
3) Strong derivatives product experience could also make up for less experience with market risk
– Hands-on experience writing queries using SQL
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– RiskWatch experience is an asset
– Experience with derivatives valuation
– Python knowledge is an asset
– Experience with data analysis
– JSON or XML exposure is an asset

– Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written
– Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight
– Fast adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
– Ability to work well under pressure
– Strong investigation, prioritization and organization skills
– Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding.
Degrees or certifications:
– Post-secondary education – work experience is prioritized to education
