Business Analyst- Capital Markets
Typical Day in Role:
– Testing and deployment of new applications – engaged with the development team on a day-to-day basis (3-4 hours daily), to gather requirements and understand defects etc.
– Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
– Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
– Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
– Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
– Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment – Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
– Minor production support on both applications (Zeus)
– Work with business sponsors, business partners in Middle Office, and engaging with some of the Front Office team members on the project team side
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 10+ years’ Business Analyst experience within the financial industry.
2) 3 + years’ recent project experience supporting Front and Middle Office applications in Capital Markets – ideally within the Equity space
3) Equities experience is required, as this experience will play a key role in performance and ability to assimilate to the role.
4) 5 + years’ recent project experience creating SQL queries
5) 5 + years’ experience with Agile projects
Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Recent experience with the Fidessa product will be highly prioritized – banks including RBC, BMO and TD are currently using this application and will be highly transferrable for this assignment
– Understanding of FIX protocol
– Elastic Search experience is an asset

Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
