Story Behind the Need

Project: Candidate will be onboarded initially mainly to support for ACH Payment Regulatory Project, multiple teams will work in collaboration to complete the project, our team’s main responsibilities is to design and develop the configuration user interface that internal staff will use to complete backend system configurations supporting the features built out of this project. However, the scope of duties of the BSA is not limited to this project, the BSA is expected to learn and understand our application landscape, and able to support many other projects that are in the queue as well.

Typical Day in Role
– Works on multiple projects as a project team member
– Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
– Facilitates collaborative solution discovery sessions using lightweight techniques such as Story Mapping
– Decomposes the solution into small increments of value (stories) that can be independently built and validated
– Works closely with architects and engineers to ensure a flow of stories are specified, engineered and validated
– Collaborates with team to detail acceptance criteria on stories using practices such as specification by example
– Collaborates with business stakeholders to accept built and tested stories
– Collaborates with team and business representatives to define value and guide priority
– Collaborates with the delivery team to define the overall testing approach and perform acceptance testing to validate business requirements in rapid iterations
– Performs exploratory testing and regression testing as necessary, using a risk-based approach
– Extends story specifications to align with automation testing strategies while including real world data, edge cases etc.
– Provide guidance to Product System Specialist I and Associate Product System Specialist
– Facilitates root cause analysis of defects with the team and ensures that they acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 4+ years of experience in a similar BSA role
2) 2+ years working with SQL scripts – should be able to extract data using SQL
3) 1-2 years experience documenting SOAP and REST webservices

Nice-To-Have Skills:
– Knowledge of programming concepts and knowledge is a plus
– Knowledge of payment products is highly preferred
– Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is a plus
– Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus

Soft Skills:
– Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
– Excellent communications skills to coordinate with high ranking individuals internally (Sr Manager and Director level generally)
– Self-starter that actively engages issues seeking resolution, ability to meet dynamic changes on prioritization
– Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight
– Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
– Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism
-Strong investigation, prioritization, and organization skills
– Candidate must have an open mind when it comes to approach, and be able to assess each situation separately
– Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding

Degrees or certifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or similar programs required
