The Application Support Specialist provides Application Support expertise to effectively support and maintain the production environment. The Application Support Specialist also provides 2nd level operations support for application related issues. In this role, you will:
• Provide support on all core system software including web servers, application servers and middleware components
• Administer the application jobs through the job scheduler
• Provide support to the infrastructure team during issue resolution
• Ensure compliance with all operations policies and procedures (Security and audit)
• Create/Review/Update procedural and support documentation
• Attend project meetings
• Provide project technical support during implementation
• Ensure high quality service delivery
• Provide 24/7 support on a rotational basis
• Execute scheduled tasks
• Update documentation
• Provide support for BCP strategies for applications
• Update BCP procedures and documentation
• Participate in implementing improvements to manual process to leverage the infrastructure and applications for greater efficiencies
Why YOU are the person we’re looking for • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science/Engineering or any equivalent combination of training and experience
• 3+ years’ experience in Unix environment
• 3+ years’ experience working in a production support role and UAT environment
• Knowledge in most of this software: Apache, Tomcat, Tibco EMS, WebLogic, Tuxedo, IBM WebSphere and MQ
• Understanding of Fundserv core financial application a definitive plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Understanding of ITIL • Participated in rotating 7 x 24 on-call support
