Candidate Value Proposition
– The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the back-office transformation for the Mexico FX business/Canadian Back-office
Typical Day in Role
• Enhancement items that need to be viewed on a regular bases. Management/project will prioritize items and assign to the contractor
• Analysis and typical roles for a BSA
• Running SQL queries and work with Oracle
• Looking at data attributes (related to FX) and ensuring that the data is accurate and complete.
• Working on internal enhancements, as well as meeting regulatory/industry requirements (e.g., ISO20022)
• Ensuring accuracy of the output generated by the system
• May undertake some work on the back end using Unix, if able
• Working with other back-office teams within Canada
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills (in order of priority):
• 3+ years’ back-office experience within FX
• 5+ years’ experience working in a relevant capacity as a BSA
• Wallstreet FX: exposure to settlements/payments via SWIFT and CLS, accounting, and confirmations
• Professional experience writing and designing SQL queries (intermediate to advanced skills)
• Hands-on experience with SDLC (testing and technical specifications), as well as a strong understanding of configurations, technical mappings, data attributes
Soft Skills:
• Willingness to learn new things is a key value

Nice to Have Skills:
• Working knowledge of Unix
• Fluency in Spanish would be an asset
Best vs Average: FX back-office experience is the top priority when sourcing candidates (emphasis on back office). The best contractor would have direct FX systems experience. Technical aptitude is important, as well as understanding the software development life cycle.
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

Additional Notes:
• Technology background in FX platforms preferred
• Backend experience in the first requirement refers to settlement, confirmation, and accounting. Backoffice is the end to end trade lifecycle.
• After the front office is trading is complete, someone needs to take care of it in the back office (settlements, confirmation, accounting)
• Risk management and regulatory is not the back office experience requested here
• SWIFT on technology side is needed; not on business side
• Technical BSA experience required
